Supposed to be one of the best awards given to a site, and carry a lot of prestige, from the "International Association of Webmasters and Designers". I don't know how valid that is, but it's the only one I actually applied for, and they were happy to inform me that I had won and I could put a link back to their site, and they even offered me a discount to join their organization. They have sent back some traffic to web-friend, so I posted their 'award'. |

To be honest, the kind emails that say thank you mean more to me than a pretty picture I can post if I put a link back to a site. It's the kind words people have to say about the site that encourage me so much more than anything. Although I've never given much thought to the whole "Awards" thing, I have received a few. This is a list of some of the places that have sent me awards for my web site, and I do appreciate the recognition. I used to delete all the "You've won our award" emails, but thought I'd save a couple during the summer of '03, just for the heck of it. I've never gone out of my way to apply for any awards, but I did once post a link to my site on a forum board that was discussing awards. I think one of the big things many of these "award" sites are looking for is a reciprocal link back to their site - but I guess anyone should feel good if someone takes the time to email them and say "Hey, you won my award"
